How To Clean Your Custom Logo Facemask

As we find our new normal amidst a global pandemic, face masks have become an integral part of our daily lives as well as our wardrobes, bringing with them a whole new way to express ourselves as we work to protect each other. Nowadays you can find masks to fit any and every style, so why not pick something to match your outfit? A custom logo face mask can make a great addition to your daily business attire, showing employees and clients alike that your business cares as much about safety as they do the rest of their job. Making personalized masks a part of your company’s uniform is an easy way to have an air of caring professionalism while also pulling together everything from a business casual outfit to a sharp uniform. You might be wondering if adding another piece to your daily look is worth the hassle of cleaning, but, luckily, custom logo masks are as easy to wash as they are to wear, and here’s how.

Wash Your Face Mask After Every Use

The CDC recommends that you wash your mask after every use if possible, so it’s a good idea to keep a few masks around the house or office so that there is always a fresh one available if your favorite is in need of a bath. Luckily, you can buy masks in a three pack, so you won’t find yourself in a mask-less panic if you do have to toss yours in the laundry pile. Don’t be afraid to switch up your mask look when your go-to is in the washer. You might find your new favorite style!

Check Your Mask for Instructions

Most masks will tell you right on the label how they should be washed. Lands’ End employee face masks are made from cotton or cotton blend fabrics (as most face masks are) and can be thrown into the washing machine with the rest of your clothes for easy and convenient cleaning. To keep your cotton masks from shrinking, make sure that you set your machine to a cool, gentle cycle and use chlorine detergent to get the cloth as clean as possible. Hand washing is a great way to make sure that your washing machine doesn’t damage your company’s logo as well.

Toss Your Face Mask in the Washing Machine

With your mask’s specific instructions in mind, feel free to toss your mask straight into the washing machine with the rest of your business’s custom polos. You can use regular laundry detergent and set the water temperature to its usual warmth (though it’s probably a good idea to wash your mask on a cold setting when cleaning it for the first time). You might want to opt for a non-scented detergent if you are sensitive to perfumes or simply don’t care for a soapy smell.

Clean Your Mask by Hand

If you plan on washing your mask by hand, the CDC recommends using a bleach solution that you can easily make in your own home. To do this, simply mix four teaspoons of household bleach per quart of water (or 5 tablespoons per gallon of water if you’ve got a larger load). Be sure to check the bleach that you’re using to make sure that it is intended for disinfection, as some that are designed to be safe on colored fabrics might not be. Once you have your bleach solution together, soak the face mask for five minutes, then wash with your fingers for at least twenty seconds to knock any remaining dirt or dust free. Finally rinse the mask thoroughly with cool or room temperature water.

Drying Your Face Mask

Once your mask has been thoroughly washed, it’s important that you let it dry completely before wearing. If you are using a machine dryer, use the highest heat setting you can for the other clothes in the load, then leave in the machine until dry. If you’d rather air dry, lay your mask flat until it has dried completely. If possible, place it in direct sunlight.

Once your masks have been properly washed, be sure to store them in a clean, dry place. They’ll be ready for action whenever you need them!
